ince the Paris Agreement on Climate Change was signed in 2015, addressing climate change concerns has been a significant topic of discussion globally. It’s clear that governments — federal, state/provincial and local — will continue to act on the issue of global climate change over the months and years ahead.

Water is an essential natural resource for communities, ecosystems and economic development. It is also integral to our operations. As water resources become stressed locally, finding solutions to the diverse and specialized challenges affiliated with competition for water use is crucial. That is why we invested in the ConocoPhillips Center for a Sustainable WE2ST (Water-Energy Education, Science and Technology) at Colorado School of Mines.

A couple of weeks ago, Houston – our hometown – hosted the Super Bowl. While the fun and fanfare has died down, we still want to share a presentation from the pre-game festivities. Our Chief Technology Officer Greg Leveille offered a pretty interesting retrospective on energy use and availability over the past few decades, as well as insight into the shale renaissance.

ConocoPhillips was recently honored as one of America's 100 Best Corporate Citizens by Forbes and Just Capital. The 900 largest public companies in the U.S. were evaluated on 10 metrics weighted according to their importance to the American public, based on survey. The Top 100 is made up of three or four companies from each sector. It is the first year for the list to be published.

The votes have been counted and the American people elected Donald Trump the 45th president of the United States. ConocoPhillips has already begun to work with the incoming administration to forge the kind of energy future that protects the environment while delivering the world the energy it requires.

We are literally surrounded by the benefits of natural gas and oil every day of the holiday season. From the heating oil that keeps us warm to the petroleum-based components used to manufacture the devices that allow us to order gifts online, we are continuously impacted by these resources.
