Helping after Hurricane Harvey

Home Blog HELPING AFTER HURRICANE HARVEY

It’s been just over a week since Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas and it’s been heart-warming to see how Texas communities have pulled together and volunteered to help during these difficult times. Though the destruction is tough to comprehend, the resilience of Houston will triumph over devastation and our thoughts and prayers are with our neighbors as they deal with the challenges of clean-up, repair and renovation. For this reason, ConocoPhillips made two charitable donations to assist and support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts and Gulf Coast-Area communities – $2.5 million to the American Red Cross and $2.5 million donation to the United Way of Greater Houston, for a total of $5 million. The donations will support efforts throughout the affected regions. Additionally, the company will match personal donations to eligible relief organizations made by employees and retirees.

“Our thoughts are with all of those who are dealing with the impact of this unprecedented natural disaster,” said Ryan Lance, ConocoPhillips chairman and chief executive officer. “Our priority remains ensuring the safety of our employees and our operations. However, as members of a much larger community that needs our help, we stand ready and willing to do our part. We encourage others to follow.”
